Why did you change to a membership model (and why did you get rid of class passes)?

We transitioned to a membership model to serve you better. We know that practicing yoga regularly creates amazing results (such as an increase in strength, flexibility, connection, compassion, and courage) and we also know that these results can manifest as powerful changes within our lives. When we are deeply connected to ourselves and our community, we can do the hard things in our life. We can overcome patterns and habits that no longer serve us, make changes that align with our values and desires, and design a life that meets our needs.

Changes like these don’t happen overnight though. It takes consistent practice and consistent effort to transform our bodies, minds, and lives. Consistency is key for any lasting change to occur, whether it be increasing flexibility or compassion.

We want to support you in developing a consistent practice so that you can live the results you are dreaming about. We believe a membership model is the best way to help you do this.

Unfortunately, class passes do not encourage consistency. What we have found is that many class pass holders take classes sporadically even though the intention may be to be consistent. What we have seen too often is class pass holders taking months and sometimes over a year to use a 5 or 10 class pass. That infrequency with a yoga practice will yield few results.

In essence, we want you to experience results. And the only way to do that is through a consistent practice. Our membership model will support you in developing a consistent practice and thus create the results you desire.

Does this change make Putney Moves a stronger business?

We love being a small business in Putney and absolutely delight in supporting the local community with ongoing opportunities to increase health and wellbeing.  We are so happy to be here and plan on being in business for a long time.  To that end, we need to adjust our pricing and pricing options so that we can remain a steady and stable business.  These changes will help ensure Putney Moves remains strong and healthy for years to come.

Why should I become a member?

First and foremost, we care deeply about you and are invested in supporting and fostering your growth. In short, you matter to us in a very big way. We honor who you are and what you bring to our community with deep love and respect. We want to see you, spend time with you, and support you.

Second, becoming a member means you join a community. This is a space where you will be supported and loved as well as a space where you will form meaningful relationships. Being a member means you’ll show up to your practice and your community on a regular basis. We will notice when you are there and also when you aren’t.

Lastly, by becoming a member you are commiting to your practice and to yourself. Through a consistent practice, you will see and live the results you desire. A regular practice is the only way to make change, in any part of your life. Becoming a member will be one of the best decisions of your life. Begin now.

What’s the best membership for me?

If you want to make significant changes in your body (flexibility, strength, balance) and mind (self-love, calm, focused, clear) then the Unlimited Membership is the best membership for you. With this membership, you will be able to take unlimited classes, which means you could take 3 or 4 (or more!) classes per week (imagine how amazing you would feel with that much yoga in your life!). Additionally, this membership is for you if you thrive on the support of community. By joining as an Unlimited Member, you join a community of practitioners who care deeply and who will support you with staying committed to your goals.

If you would like to maintain a weekly yoga practice then the Basic Membership is the best option for you. With this membership you will receive 5 classes per month, which will allow you to practice once per week (or more, depending how you want to schedule your 5 classes). This weekly commitment and consistency will decrease stress, improve strength, flexibility, and balance, as well as strengthen your connection to self.

If you are visiting the area or prefer to pay with cash or check, we recommend the Monthly Membership. This membership is month-to-month and includes unlimited classes.

What if I want to cancel?

No problem, you can cancel your membership at anytime. All we ask is that you provide a written notice (either handwritten or via email) at least 2-weeks before you want to cancel.

What if I go out of town, am sick, or have an injury? Can I pause my membership?

You can pause your Basic or Unlimited Membership at anytime (for a minimum of 2 weeks). To pause your membership, please email us and include the specific dates you want to pause your membership (start and end date). All pausing requests must be done in writing. Note: Pausing is not available for the Monthly Membership.

What forms of payment are accepted?

For the Basic and Unlimited Memberships, we accept credit/debit cards. For the New Student Special, Drop-In rate, and Monthly Membership we accept cash, check, and credit/debit cards. If you are paying with a credit card, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.

Who can use the guest passes?

With the Unlimited Membership you receive unlimited guest passes! These guest passes are for first-time students only and each guest must accompany the member to class. When you bring a guest to class, let the teacher know they are your guest and we will gift them a free class on your behalf. All new students must complete the new student waiver and registration form before taking class so please arrive a few minutes early to allow time for this process.

How can I become a member?

To become a Basic, Unlimited, or Monthly Member please click here or sign up in the studio. We are so excited you are beginning a regular yoga practice and can’t wait to see how it transforms your life. We are here to support you every step of the way.

When do the pricing and membership changes take effect?

The new pricing and membership model will take effect Friday, February 1st. We will sell class passes until January 31st and all class passes will be honored until they are completed.

I have a class pass…can I still use it in February?

Yes, you can use your class pass in February and beyond (until it is completed). However, beginning in February class passes will no longer be available to purchase.

I still have classes left on my Basic Membership? Can I still use them?

Yes, if you currently have a Basic Membership, you can still use these classes. The Basic Membership rate will change to $59 per month on your next monthly renewal date and at that time you will receive 5 classes per month. Please note: classes do not roll over from month-to-month with the Basic Membership.
