Step 1: Register

Before taking your first class, please complete the New Student Registration Form. If you prefer, you can complete this form in-person at the studio (please arrive 5-10 minutes before class begins to complete the form).
 

Common Questions:
  • Should I Arrive Early? For students new to yoga as well students new to Putney Moves we recommend arriving a few minutes early to class so you can talk with the teacher about your yoga experience, intentions/goals, injuries, and to go over modifications or variations of movements, if needed.
  •  

  • What Should I Wear? Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily, but nothing too baggy so that it’s easy for the teacher to see and support your alignment in the poses.
  •  

  • Do I Need Shoes? Yoga is always practiced in bare feet.
  •  

  • Should I Eat Beforehand? Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. We suggest waiting a few hours after a heavy meal and at least one hour after a light snack before taking class.
  •  

  • What Class Is Right For Me? Figuring out what class is right for you can be challenging if you’re unfamiliar with yoga. Not to worry though! Your Yoga Advisor will help you not only find which classes align with your intentions and needs, but also support you in creating a wellness plan and answer any and all questions you may have about yoga and wellness.
